Matt’s journey started in radio, writing commercials, news, and comedy—while always holding onto his love of poetry (his first poem was published in high school!). That passion led to award-winning work, including a Pushcart Prize nomination and the MacGregor Poetry Prize.
Today, he’s the author of more than a dozen children’s books, including Flashlight Night (named one of the New York Public Library’s Best Books for Kids) and I Am Today, winner of the 2023 New Hampshire Literary Award for Outstanding Children’s Literature.
