2026 Policies & Procedures
The Candia Farmers Market (CFM) is run by a volunteer steering committee as a not-for-profit entity for the benefit of local farmers and the community.
Mission: Provide local farmers and artisans with a place to sell their products, while strengthening our community.
Location: Pond Park at the Smyth Public Library, 55 High Street, Candia, NH 03034
Market Schedule- 3rd Saturday, June-October
- Hours: June-September 9:00-12:00; October 9:00-1:00 (hours may be adjusted if needed.)
- October includes the Artisan Fair & Mini-Oktoberfest.
Vendor Types
- Agricultural vendors: At least 70% vendor-grown/foraged/caught/raised. Up to 30% may come from other local farms with a sign naming the source.
- Value Added Farm products: Made by the vendor using their own or other local farms' products; items purchased must be disclosed on a sign.
- Prepared/Baked: Made by the vendor; use local ingredients when possible. Items not grown in New England (e.g., coffee, olives) require prior CFM approval.
- Artisan/Craftsperson: Original, locally made work by the vendor (no mass-produced items) Preference for natural/local materials and fine craftsmanship.
Vendor Mix Goal
- ≥ 50% agricultural producers and value added farm products
- ≤ 30% prepared/baked
- ≤ 20% artisan/craft
- Ratios may be higher during July's Artisan Fair and October's Mini-Oktoberfest & Artisan Fair. Candia vendors get preference when space allows.
What You Can Sell
- All items must be listed on your application and will be approved on a per-item basis.
- NO mass-produced items.
- Must be grown/raised/caught/crafted in New England.
- No food trucks.
Booth& Signage- Space: 10' x 10' on grass. Bring your own tent (with 20 lb weights per leg), tables, and chairs. Place signs/flags within or adjacent to your space.
- Required: business/farm sign and visible pricing (menu/price list or item tags).
- Clearly label items sourced from other farms.
- NO promotion of other businesses, and NO political/controversial/religious signs.
- Fundraising/special events require prior approval.
Space Assignment: CFM assigns spaces. Tell us if you have heavy items or mobility concern so we can try to place you near the parking lot.
Set Up & Close
- Arrive staring at 7:00 AM; be fully set up by 8:45 AM.
- If it is late and you won't be set up before the opening, get permission from the Management Team before unloading. No setting up after opening as it creates a hazard for our customers and reflects poorly on the professionalism of our market.
- Customers enter at 9:00 AM, if not earlier; be ready to sell.
- Do not break down prior to the market's official closing.
Parking: Move vendor vehicles to
Moore School (12 Deerfield Rd) by 8:45. Extra parking at
Candia Town Hall (74 High St). If walking is difficult, request a spot near the customer parking.
Insurance
- General and product liability $1,000,00 per occurrence.
- Provide a certificate of insurance naming the Town of Candia DBA Candia Farmer’s Market as an additionally insured.
SNAP/EBT & GSMM
- CFM uses $1 wooden tokens (SNAP) and $1 paper vouchers (GSMM) for eligible items.
- Only accept tokens and vouchers imprinted with our logo.
- Vendors of eligible items must complete a brief training (link provided after acceptance).
Licensing & Permits
- Vendors are responsible for all required state/federal permits.

Homestead/Prepared foods: follow NH Homestead Food Operations rules; label accordingly (see DHHS site).
- Display all licenses at your table.
- Scales used for by-the-pound sales must be NH-registered and annually certified.
Organic:
Only use
"Certified Organic" if you hold a current certification; it must be attached to your application and displayed at market.
Non-Profits: Admitted as space allows for education/info or sales that meet sourcing rules.
No fee. No political, controversial, or religious organizations.
Emergencies:
Call
911 and notify the
Management Team at the
Candia Community Table.
Pets:
Domesticated animals are allowed: owners must follow Candia leash laws and control their pets.
Smoking/Vaping:
Prohibited anywhere on CFM grounds.
Refuse:
Carry-in/carry-out.Leave your space clean.
Do not use the host site trash for vendor waste.
Cancellation
- Market is rain or shine; CFM may cancel for severe weather or other emergencies (notice via email).
- If you can not attend a market you are registerd for please notify the team by Thursday of market week. No-shows may be removed from future markets. Fees are non-refundable.
- Running-late/emergency: Contact us before 8:00 AM on market day.
Code of Conduct: We aim for a safe, respectful, transparent market for all. Report issues to the
Management Team immediately.
Non-Compliance & Removal
- Day-of decisions by the Market Management Team are final for that market; you may submit a written appeal to the CFM Committee before the next market.
- CFM reserves the right to revoke the vendor's approval at any time: booth fees are forfeited.
- Violations of CFM rules or health laws, unsafe behavior, or infringing on others' rights may result in a warning, suspension, or dismissal.
- Reinstatement requires a written request and CFM Committee review.
- By using our online application, you acknowledge you have read and agree to these policies.
- Policies may change; updates will be emailed.
- Vendor fees are non-refundable.
Conflicts and Appeals
- Vendor-Customer issues: report to the Community Table for resolution.
- Complaint about a vendor: submit in writing to the CFM Management Team, 74 High St, Candia, NH 03034.Decision within 14 days via email/in person.
- Complaint about Candia Farmers Market Management Team: write to the CFM Committee at the same address as above. Decision with in 14 days.

If you disagree with the CFM Committee's decision, you may appeal in writing to the Candia Agricultural Commission. Decision within 7 business days of their next regular meeting. Their decision is final.
