Fresh Start Farms is a collective brand for immigrant and refugee farmers participating in the New American Sustainable Agriculture Program, a program of the Organization for Refugee and Immigrant Success. We work alongside new American farmers to bring farm-fresh ingredients to your table via neighborhood farmers markets and stands, wholesale, and our FarmShare and Fresh Start Market.
Farmer Fadumo and her daughters have been with the Candia Farmers Market since 2022. They always have a wide variety of vegetables and fruits to choose from each month.
Girard Farms offers pasture-raised beef, free-range chicken eggs, and pork, all proudly raised right here in Candia. You’ll also find a selection of seasonal produce, grown with care and rooted in local tradition.
My name is Melanie Critchett Gray, and I am a lifelong resident of Candia, New Hampshire. I grew up on Critchett Road and later moved just a few miles away to Currier Road, where my family has lived for more than 30 years.
The name Graymare was created by blending our family names: Gray (my husband Jim and his children) and Mare (Melanie, Ashley, Rebecca, and the “e” that ties us all together).
Graymare Essentials was founded in 2019 when my passion for a healthier, more natural lifestyle led me to explore essential oils and herbalism. While I still enjoy creating wellness products such as salves, soaps, serums, and syrups, my creative focus has expanded over the years.
Today, you’ll find a growing collection of handcrafted crochet items, along with a selection of natural wellness products. I love creating unique, handmade pieces that bring comfort, beauty, and a personal touch to everyday life.
I joined the Candia Farmers Market during its inaugural season in 2021 and enjoyed being part of the market for several years. After taking some time away, I’m excited to return this season and reconnect with friends, neighbors, and customers.
I look forward to sharing my handmade creations and being part of this wonderful community once again.
